Travellers sometimes need help

I found a book in a tourist office in Seattle called `Poetry on the Bus `and I liked it. Recently I saw a poem about the closure of the ferry service across the River Clyde. All poems about travel are welcome!

The time has come we all must part
This really breaks an auld lady`s heart
For years and years I`ve taken a jaunt
across tay Renfrew my favouite haunt
And noo ye ken the powers that byde
Are depriving the travellers a route over the Clyde.

(Thanks to Ferry Supervisor Joe McLaughlin)

Writing on the Bus- A Tanka by Judy Palmer

    I wrote past my stop
should I get a bus transfer
    or sit where I am
and write further on my route
    since I`ve written this far

If I were a bus I`d go to the rainbow sparkly store,
I`d go to aquarium sparkly land
    I`d go to a castle
I`d go to rainbow sparklyland New York
I`d go all over the world
    I`d go to Oochworm town
If I were a bus I`d go everywhere

She drafts her letter of resignation,
    Moves to France,
    Buys a winery,
    Cuts her hair (short),
    Takes a lover,
    No, two,
    Writes her memoirs
    And a best-selling cookbook.
    Then her stop is called;
She clutches her ticket, memorizes her numbers, thanks the driver,
Who has himself moved to Spain.
